لمحہ لمحہ قہر قضا تھا ، ساعت ساعت بھاری تھا
کچھ مت پوچھو دل والوں نے کیسے عمر گزاری تھی
کس نے مست نظر سے دیکھا آج کہ ہر سو محفل میں
مستی مستی کا عالم تھا ، سر شاری سر شاری تھی
کیا جانے ، وہ وصل کی گھڑیاں تھیں یا وقت بچھوڑے کا
ہونٹوں پر مسکان تھی پر آنکھوں سے برکھاجاری تھی
کیا فریاد ستم کی تم سے ، کیا شکوہ بے رحمی کا
کل غیروں نے غم بخشے تھے ، آج تمھاری باری تھی
کیسا غصہ ، کیسی خفگی ، تم جیتے ہم ہار گئے
لو تسلیم کئے لیتے ہیں ، ساری بھول ہماری تھی
اعلیٰ ظرف تھا ، دریا دل تھا ، اہلِ نظر تھا، محسن تھا
فاتح جس انسان پہ چسپاں تہمت بادہ خواری تھی
