غزل
مسافت کبھی منزل کا تعین نہیں کرتی
اِس راہ میں بس پاؤں کے چھالے نہیں جاتے
اُن تشنہ لبوں کو ہے میرے خون سے نسبت
پتھر جو میری سمت اُچھالے نہیں جاتے
اِس واسطے اُس شخص سے کہنا تھا کہ نہ جا
کوئی چھوڑ کے جائے تو حوالے نہیں جاتے
دل سے مجھے رغبت تھی میرے دوست وگرنہ
ٹوٹے ہوئے شیشے تو سنبھالے نہیں جاتے
رہتے ہیں میری آنکھ میں کچھ خواب مجسم
بُت ہیں کہ جو کعبے سے نکالے نہیں جاتے

Musafat kabhi manzil ka taaiyun nahi karti
Iss rah main bas paao’n ky chaaly nahi jaty
Un tishna labon ko hy mery khoon sy nisbat
Pathar jo meri samt uchaaly nahi jaty
Iss wasty uss shaqs sy kehna tha keh na ja
Koi choor ky jaye to hawaly nahi jaty
Dill sy mujhy raghbat thi mery dost wagarna
Tooty hoye sheeshy to sanbhaly nahi jaty
Rehty hain meri aankh main kuch khaab mujassum
Buut hain keh jo Kaaby sy nikaly nahi jaty
