مرے ہم نفس ، مرے ہمنوا
تجھے کیا ہوا تو ہے کیوں خفا؟
نہ اِدهر اُدهر کی تو بات کر
مجھے یہ بتا ہوئی کیا خطا؟
مرے ساتھ چل مرے ہم قدم
تجھے اذن ہے مجھے آزما
مجھے نام دے مجھے اپنا کہہ
میں ہوں با وفا نہیں بے وفا
ترے دم قدم سے ہے زندگی
تری ذات سے ہے ملی بقا
مری شاعری میں امید ہے
نہ ہوں میرؔ میں نہ ہوں ایلیاؔ
ہے یہ حال مشفقِ زار کا
تری جستجو میں ہے خستہ پا
