In the Amar Bail (English: Mistletoe) novel, the writer shares the love story of Umar Jehangir and Aleezay Sikandar that is set against the backdrop of Pakistani bureaucratic culture. It’s a story of unbalanced partnerships, shattered families, the need for dominance, insecurities, and, above all, love—its intensity and its sacrifices. It shows the real face of our bureaucratic system, emphasizing social ills like unfairness, nepotism, and corruption as well as how, occasionally, breaking the law is the only way to get even with those who commit these crimes. The novel’s superb depiction of human emotions and psychology will warm your heart. This novel was first published in the monthly digest Shuaa in the episodic form.
I have no words for this master-piece written by Umera Ahmed. This book brilliantly depicts a corrupt bureaucracy, social ills, nepotism, family-oriented favors, fractured families, divorce in practically every household, and wrongdoings. However, from the other side emerged a storm of silent sentiments, a gentle heart, a sacrificed love, an eternal longing to allow your love happy forever, and knowledge of his flaws. Aleezah become a successful, mature, and smart girl thanks to Umer. I hope their marriage proves to be happy for both of them.
Novel Summary:
The plot of the novel centers on the lives of Umar and Aleezay and touches on romance as well as a significant current problem in Pakistan: corruption. Not everyone is corrupt, especially those in the political arena. Insecurities, fractured families, and other topics that some readers may find sensitive are also covered in the novel. To put it mildly, Amar Bail was fascinating and quite emotional, which is something I really like about books. This can be the best choice for you if you enjoy reading books that make you feel tense and want to complete them all in one sitting.
